Story
The MC-500 is really a dedicated MIDI computer. The system software is loaded from disks, which makes the system a very versatile one. It can be used as a regular MIDI sequencer, a MIDI playback sequencer, a rhythm sequencer or even a bulk librarian. The recording system operates on four polyphonic tracks which can be merged and un-merged as many times as you like. All MIDI data can be edited to the most precise detail using the Microscope Mode.
The choice of a sequencer is a very individual thing - small details about the operation of a particular sequencer will be loved by some and loathed by others, so a personal judgement on the MC500 MkII would be of little value. Despite my misgivings about limited visual feedback, this system is powerful enough to be the heart of almost any MIDI set-up, and if you're in the market for a new sequencer the MC500 MkII is certainly worthy of your attention.
